Portugal is a hub for major international technology companies

Portugal is a "welcoming hub for large international technology companies" because of its unique location for data centers of companies that care about best practices in data protection rules.

This is what the study "Embracing the Challenges of Digital Transformation", developed by the US-based international law firm Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld and the Portuguese law firm PLMJ, reveals.

According to the study, in the European Union, Portugal is among the most stable, open and favorable in terms of business creation because it guarantees stability among the best practices in the data protection and cybersecurity regulatory environment by aligning itself with leading international industry standards and certifications.

It is of utmost importance that European countries take the issue of personal data protection into consideration as digital transformation steadily accelerates on a global scale.

It should be recalled that Start Campus has begun construction of the largest Data Center project to date in the Iberian Peninsula: the Star Campus, with a capacity of over 450 MW, in Sines.
